Guernsey Golfing

Located in an area known as L'Ancresse Common, on the northern end of the island is the Royal Guernsey Golf Club. The Club, founded in 1890, offers a challenging course situated among beautiful rolling hills, surrounded by the beauty of the unique environment. Spectacular views across both L'Ancresse and Pembroke beaches can easily distract a golfer attempting to line up a birdie putt. A treat for the eyes as well as a test for the serious golfer, with first-rate clubhouse facilities including a well-appointed pro shop along with a lounge/bar and restaurant, the Royal is first-class personified.

On Guernsey's western coast is La Grande Mare Golf Club. Nestled among 120 acres alongside the sandy beaches of Vazon Bay, La Grande Mare has served golfers since 1994 in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere among a pastoral and scenic 18 hole layout that is unforgettable.

In St Peter Port, golfers rave about the Tony Jacklin-designed St Pierre Park Golf Course, a nine hole course that is short but extremely challenging. Do not be deceived by this innocuous looking course with it's abundant water hazards and sloping approaches. More than a few golfers have finished up their nine only to dash back to have another go at this very under-rated gem.
